Collection: Hawkfish

Hawkfish are small to medium-sized marine fish belonging to the family Cirrhitidae, known for their bold personalities and their habit of perching on corals or rock ledges. Found primarily in tropical reef environments, they use their strong pectoral fins to rest and observe their surroundings much like birds of prey, which is how they get their name.

Popular aquarium species include the Longnose Hawkfish and Flame Hawkfish, each prized for its striking coloration and unique behavior. Hawkfish are generally hardy and easy to care for, but they can be territorial and may prey on smaller invertebrates or fish. They thrive in well-established aquariums with plenty of live rock and open space, making them a favorite among experienced saltwater hobbyists.
